DAZED/CONVERSE 2012 EMERGING ARTIST AWARD

Dazed & Confused magazine is teaming up with Converse again to present the Dazed/Converse 2012 Emerging Artist Award. The competition is open to all UK-based artists under the age of 35 who are not represented by a gallery and are not currently studying. Four shortlisted artists will be selected on the basis of what the judging panel considers to be the most innovative, interesting and well-produced work. One overall winner will be chosen to receive a cash prize of £6,000.It’s open for submissions now. Among the judging panel is Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller, The Times Arts Commissioning Editor Nancy Durrant, Dazed & Confused Visual Arts Editor Francesca Gavin and art collective LuckyPDF. The shortlisted artists will create original, site specific pieces for a group show at a gallery near the Whitechapel Gallery this autumn. The winner will be announced at the Whitechapel Gallery.
