Pictoplasma, the world's leading conference on contemporary character design returns to NYC. Billed as a an inspiring weekend of artist talks, film screenings, exhibitions and loads of character!

The event once more stages the world’s leading and largest celebration of contemporary character culture, with a dense, two day program of inspiring artist presentations, conference lectures, animation festival and performances! Its unique mix of screenings, talks, presentations and parties has proven to be immensely inspiring, while the lively exchange between the various disciplines highlights the importance of contemporary characters in today’s global visual understanding.

This fourth US edition is held at the Tishman Auditorium of Parsons The New School for Design.

Amongst the speakers are Dudebox favourites Buff Monster, Jason Freeny and our very own Mark Gmehling.

To coincide with Pictoplasma, a 10 year anniversary exhibition honouring Scary Girl opens on Hallowe'en night. Held at ToyTokyo Underground Gallery over 100 artists pay homage to the classic character as created by Nathan Jerevicius.
